Autonomous Deterministic Alpha Matrix (ADAM)

Architectural Foundations of a W3C PROV-O Compliant Neuro-Symbolic Operating System for Institutional Finance.

Version: v26.4.0 | Classification: Public Release

1. Executive Summary

The financial industry's adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs) has been historically constrained by the "Hallucination Barrier"—the inherent probabilistic nature of generative AI directly conflicts with the deterministic, highly-regulated requirements of institutional capital markets.

Adam OS vNext solves this through a rigorous Neuro-Symbolic architecture. By enforcing a hard boundary between probabilistic reasoning (System 1) and deterministic execution (System 2), the system guarantees that LLMs may propose calculations, but all authoritative math is routed through a verifiable Rust microkernel (`rust_ext`).

2. The 10 Core Architectural Invariants

The system is governed by absolute axioms that cannot be bypassed. These are validated computationally via the `GovernanceGatekeeper`.

INVARIANT A: LLMs may propose calculations but may not implement authoritative financial calculations in the cognitive/orchestration layer.
INVARIANT B: All state-changing operations pass through the governance plane.
INVARIANT C: All state-changing operations receive a risk classification (EU AI Act compliant).
INVARIANT D: All state-changing operations produce an immutable event in the Event Ledger.
INVARIANT E: All material decisions receive provenance metadata via W3C PROV-O.
INVARIANT F: Frozen analytical context may not silently mutate during a decision lifecycle.
INVARIANT G: Rust execution kernels are deterministic and independently testable.
INVARIANT H: Domain Logic must be separated from Presentation (FDOS Hub-and-Spoke).
INVARIANT I: Zero-Trust API Execution with mandatory Network validation (SSRF/DNS Rebind prevention).
INVARIANT J: Fail-Closed Posture. Any missing evidence blocks execution instantly.

3. PDIL (Provenance, Determinism, Identity, and Logic) Boundary

The PDIL middleware acts as the primary firewall. No agent may interact with the trading or risk engines directly.

3.1 JsonLogic and Verification

The `GovernanceGatekeeper` utilizes JsonLogic schemas to validate inputs. A hard kill-switch is triggered if the aggregated `confidence_score` drops below 0.5.

4. System Performance & Determinism Demonstration

By offloading O(N) list scans to an O(1) in-memory dictionary index (_aggregate_index) inside the EventLedger, the system achieves microsecond latency during Temporal state replays.

5. Gold Standard Evaluation Harness

Evaluation #003 enforces a fail-closed, conjunctive scoring rule. It actively verifies:

If any test within the harness detects context drift or missing provenance headers, the system terminates the PR merge sequence.
